Associate Professor Samuel Harvey

Professor Harvey is the Executive Director and Chief Scientist of the Black Dog Institute. He co-directs the National Emergency Service Worker Support (NEWS) Service, which is the first ever national mental health service for emergency service workers and volunteers. This service and an associated program of research was established following the Black Summer Bushfires. Professor Harvey has also advised the World Health Organisation on how to better protect the mental health of high risk work groups, including first responders.
