Professor David Sanderson

Professor Sanderson has 30 years experience working across the world in emergencies and resilience. He has held senior posts in NGO and academic sectors, leading teams, developing strategies and undertaking training, research and consultancy.

In 2006, he joined academia as director of a university centre working in development and emergencies and undertook a number of post-disaster evaluations. Between 2013-14 he was a Visiting Professor at Harvard University where he taught a new course on urban disasters.

Professor Sanderson is currently working with a number of councils in southern NSW developing community-led risk and resilience planning, including a project funded by Resilience NSW.
